Fire Prevention Week: City Wide Home Fire Drill

At 7:30 p.m. this evening, the Philadelphia Fire Department will hold a City Wide Home Fire Drill to highlight the importance of developing and practicing a home fire escape plan, as well as installing smoke alarms.

Fire apparatus sirens throughout the city will sound (exactly at 7:30 p.m.) to signal the start of the drill. The sirens will sounds for approximately one minute. Citizens are urged to participate by putting their home escape plan to the test. When the alarms sound, residents should leave their homes in a safe, expedient manner. Fire Department personnel will be on the streets to distribute fire prevention literature.
